Re: HW v4.9 ROS Compatibility

Hello, of course, beacons and modem of HW v4.9 are compatible with ROS. Format of data output is same for HW v4.5 and HW v4.9. Also, beacons of HW v4.5 and HW v4.9 can be mixed in one system. Use the same version of firmware for all beacons and modem (different files for HW4.5 and HW4.9, but with sa...

Re: Distinguish data from multiple hedgehogs in the same map

Yes, the packet with position contains address of the corresponding hedgehog. The packet with sensors data the hedgehog sends every time for its onboard sensors. In current version the hedgehog can not send sensors data from other hedgehogs in the system.

Re: Possible to know if Modem is D/C or Connected?

Hello, When the hedge updates its position in Marvelmind system, it outputs the coordinates via UART/USB. There are a lot of reasons why hedge not updates position: modem disconnection, hedge or stationary beacons battery discharge, strong radio noise preventing communication. Do you need some speci...

Re: Map of an operating room in a plant can't be formed

Hello Steve, Unfortunately I'm not understand are there walls between sections with beacons 4-6-8 and 3-9-5-10-7. Our system uses ultrasound for distances measurement, so for correct positioning and also for building a map direct visibility between beacons is required. I think most of troubles in bu...

Re: pixhawk + ardurover + MM

Hello, You can use the magnetic compass, but it is not reliable data source. Marvelmind robot (shown in demo videos) monitors its orientation by integrating the gyroscope. At first time it determines orientation by checking of track points when moving forward - the direction of the track corresponds...

Re: Read Position from Modem via Arduino Serial

Hello, Our Arduino example does not outputs anything to the serial port, it only listens for input. But I see the output "X= 0 Y= 0 H= 0" on your screenshots. Have you modified the example? Can you share the code? Our example sets the flag variable 'hedgehog_pos_updated' when the correct d...

Re: How to disable beacons/hedge from sleeping?

You can disable sleeping of hedgehog or stationary beacon if they are powered via USB port.
Via dashboard, set the setting of the corresponding beacon 'Misc. settings/Sleep with external power' to the state 'not sleep by timeout'.

Re: Not seeing uart data from beacon or modem

Yes, only UART2 is active now, please see wiring in this doc: https://www.marvelmind.com/pics/marvelmind_beacon_interfaces_v2017_09_13.pdf Something like heartbeat is available now too. The mobile beacon and modem every 10 sec sends packet with list of beacons in system (section 1.2 in protocol) eve...

Re: Not seeing uart data from beacon or modem

Hello, The modem and mobile beacon transmit via UART the positions of mobile beacons on the map. So for getting this basic traffic you should build the map (at least two stationary beacons), freeze the map and wake at least one mobile beacon. If the mobile beacon updates its position on the map in d...
