Broken DIP switch
Broken DIP switch
I'm in the process of setting up a set of Super Beacon 2s purchased just a few weeks ago, and already DIP switch 2 has broken on one of the beacons - the nub that protrudes to enable switching between positions has broken off. Is there any way I can switch this beacon on? Is it possible to open up the super beacon and fix it myself, or do I need to send it back to Marvelmind for replacement?
Each day when I start working, I flip the switch with a ballpoint pen (it's too small to flip by finger), then when I finish working I switch them off, in total they had probably each been turned on/off no more than 20 times before this one switch broke. I'm worried about this happening to my other beacons - should I not be doing this?Re: Broken DIP switch

Pity to hear that...
The DIP switch shall be used very rarely:
- To switch to DFU mode
- To switch off the beacon for shelf storing
It is not used and shall not be used for switching off the power. The beacons automatically go to sleep, when the modem is not available.
Check it, maybe, it is still alive because it is such a basic element. Nothing to break, actually ...
Yes, if you know what you do, it is possible to open the Super-Beacon: https://youtu.be/Qbys3ZC4W1A.
The only thing to really being careful - the inner cable for the microphone from the main board to the microphone board. So open carefully.
